FRIDAY, AUGUST 4


7:45 - 8:45 am:  Continental Breakfast at SNC


9:00 - 12:00 am:  Large Group Discussion: Review Agenda, Survey

We will survey these and other questions, and have the results available to discuss and synthesize:

What are you passionate about within the context of our purpose?

What would enable/make your passion possible (what resources, policies, commitments, institutions, changes, etc.)?

What are the key ideas, concepts and capacities to prepare for the future that support your passion ("Themes for Transformation")?


12:00- 1:00 pm:  Lunch


1:00-1:30 pm:  Walk to the Hyatt Pier


1:30:  Transit to a "Special Tahoe Place"


2:00-  5:00 pm:  Small group dialogue about actions relative to  "Themes for Transformation" that emerge in the morning session


5:00-  5:45 pm:  Return to SNC


6:00 - 7:00 pm:  Large Group: Discussion of key ideas from small groups


7:00 - 9:30 pm  Reception /Dinner

Using the Themes for Transformation for building the capacities and taking action from the local to the international level.

How does the emergence of meta-networks such as we are each engaged in and our connection to each other build these capacities?

How can each of us and our respective networks be involved in building and using these capacities?


11:00-11:30 am:  Break


11:30 - 2:00 pm:  Working Lunch

Dialogue around ideas and action proposals that emerge in the morning session


2:00-2:30 pm:  Break


2:30 - 5:00 pm:  Large Group: Synthesis, Next Steps and Closing


Where do we go and what do we do?  e.g. Community "of place" and "of interest" actions; future meetings (annual at SNC?); publishing; web sites;  linkages;  policy, institution and systems development
