MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR:

Each year, the Governors Office of Planning and Research (OPR) conducts the Local Government Planning Survey to identify planning activities, local issues, and problems which OPR may be able to help remedy by providing technical assistance.

The 1996 edition of The California Planners Book of Lists contains the results of OPRs 1995 planning survey. This is a reference source directing planners to communities with programs which may serve as models or examples. It also contains a chart summarizing the status of local general plans. In addition, the Book of Lists contains directories of Californias city and county planning agencies, Councils of Government, Local Agency Formation Commissions, and selected State and federal agencies that interact with local planning agencies.

We hope you find this information useful.

Sincerely,

Lee Grissom
Director
