Partners & AgenciesThe Stewardship Program is dependent on partnerships with many organizations and agencies, each of which offers unique resources to landowners and communities. Some of these organizations include: California Conservation Partnership (CCP). The CCP is a partnership of federal and state agencies, such as the Calfornia Department of Conservation, as well as organizations, such as the California Association of Resource Conservation Districts. The CCP brings together agencies and people with the responsibilities and the skills to manage California's valuable and limited land and water resources through the local RCDs. California Coordinated Resource Management & Planning (CRMP). Groups organized around a process used for resource planning, problem solving and management. The CRMP process emphasizes direct participation by everyone concerned with natural resource management in a given planning area. California Department of Conservation (DOC). The mission of the California Department of Conservaion is to to protect public health and safety, ensure environmental quality, and support the State's long-term economic viability in the use of California's land and mineral resources. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF) protects the people of California from fires, responds to emergencies, and protects and enhances forest, range, and watershed value providing social, economic, and environmental benefits to rural and urban citizens. California Resources Agency. The Resources Agency of California is responsible for the conservation, enhancement, and management of California's natural and cultural resources, including land, water, wildlife, parks, minerals, and historic sites. The Agency is composed of 18 State departments, boards, conservancies, and commissions. Natural Resource Conservation Service. To provide leadership in a partnership effort to help people conserve, improve, and sustain our natural resources and environment. Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D). Authorized RC&D areas (5 in California) are designated by the Secretary of Agriculture for RC&D technical and financial assistance program funds. NRCS can provide grants for land conservation, water management, community development, and environmental needs in authorized RC&D areas. Resource Conservation Districts (RCD). Resource Conservation Districts act as an independent local government liaison between the federal government and local landowners. University of California Cooperative Extension. UC's 64 Cooperative Extension offices are local problem-solving centers. More than 400 campus-based specialists and county-based farm, home, and youth advisors work to bring the University's research-based information to Californians. CE is a full partnership of federal, state, county, and private resources linked in applied research and educational outreach. CE tailors its programs to meet local needs. USDA Forest Service has a mission to achieve quality land management under the sustainable multiple-use management concept to meet the diverse needs of the people. Watershed Groups and Organizations.
