Guidelines to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)

Notice is hereby given that the written comment period scheduled to end on June 11, 1998 is extended to June 18, 1998 at 5:00 p.m. A second public hearing will be held at 1:00 p.m. on June 18, 1998 in the Resources Building Auditorium. The first public hearing will be held, as originally scheduled, at 1:00 p.m. on June 11, 1998.

At the hearings, any interested person may present statements, arguments, or comments orally, in writing, or both relating to the revisions to the proposed amendments to the CEQA Guidelines. Persons wishing to testify are requested to notify the Agency, in advance if possible, by calling (916) 653-5656. The Resources Agency may schedule speakers and limit time for individual speakers in order to permit an opportunity for all speakers and to conduct an orderly hearing.

The Secretary for Resources will hold two public hearings on the draft revisions to the proposed amendments to the CEQA Guidelines. The place, date, and time will be as follows:

* The Auditorium is accessible to mobility-impaired persons and is reached through the Ninth Street entrance.

The written comment period is extended and the second public hearing is scheduled to grant additional time and opportunity for written and oral public testimony concerning the draft revisions to the proposed amendments to the Guidelines for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act (California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Sections 15000 through 15387).

The California Resources Agency published a notice in the May 15, 1998 California Regulatory Notice Register announcing the proposed CEQA Guidelines revisions and requesting public comment.
