“Nature Deficit Disorder” is running rampant. Today, children are much less
connected to the natural world than at any other time in history. Growing
evidence proves that the simple act of unstructured play in nature results in
healthier and happier children. Yet this is the generation we look to as our
future stewards. These are the same children who will determine the future
preservation of these natural areas and the resources we have come to treasure.
